The Prince of Wales proved he can pack a majestic punch this morning after joining a boxing class during a charity visit to west London.

William, 42, appeared to be enjoying the physical challenge as he landed left and right uppercuts onto his sparring partner’s pads while visiting the Centrepoint branch in Ealing.

The royal, who attended alone without the Princess of Wales, spent time chatting to young people about the challenges they faced while living on the streets.

William, one of the UK’s largest youth homelessness charities, learned how the services offered at the branch mean there are 17 beds for young people aged 16-25 who are experiencing homelessness.

The Prince also fulfilled another of his passions: playing table football.

Famous Aston Villa supporter William seemed passionate about the challenge and celebrated when his team looked like they were winning.

When the match seemed to be going his way, the prince, dressed casually in a denim shirt, navy cardigan and navy chinos, paired with brown casual shoes, high-fived his teammate in celebration.

The royal visit marked William’s 20 years as patron of the charity and homeless people remain close to his heart.

Fan Steve Jones told The Athletic: “He said he keeps up with Villa gossip because he’s on all the fan forums.”

“You go by different names and you post there because that’s how you get an idea of what’s going on and what the opinion is.”

The club contacted Mr Jones to meet William, but they did not tell him who he would be meeting, only giving him a time and place.

He and the other fans were told to ‘call him whatever they wanted’ as the prince was off duty and there in his ‘free time’.

Jones said: “He walked in and he wasn’t surrounded by much security, just one of his assistants.”

“Bold as brass, he introduced himself, shook everyone’s hand and said, ‘Well, shall we have a round?'”

William bought a round of beers for eight Villa fans and drank a pint of Bulmers cider, staying for around half an hour before catching a train back to London.

Steve said: “The club contacted us saying that Prince William wanted to meet a delegation of Villa fans while he was in Birmingham as he wanted to stay informed about everything going on at Villa.”

‘He was fantastic. I was quite surprised by how committed he was to the club, his interest. Not a fan of good weather. “He really loves the club with a passion.”

“We talked about the club, transfers, the pending Champions League trip to Monaco and everything related to Aston Villa. “He asked a lot of questions; he has a good level of interest.

“95 per cent of it was a chat about Villa, as that is our shared interest, but a bit about his family. Young George is a Villa fan, but he didn’t want the three of them to be.

While Charlotte and Louis have shown interest in England, they have not talked about supporting any club.
