Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has revealed the differences between her real-life relationship with co-star James Stewart and their on-screen romance.

The veteran actress, 47, told 2Day FM that Hughesy, Ed and Erinher’s off-screen relationship with Stewart, 48, was much “happier” than their soap relationship.

“We’re definitely happier in real life! Do you know what[our characters]Leah and Justin have been through?” Ada began.

“Leah has been kidnapped many times and threatened Justin with a knife. In real life, we’re very boring.”

The couple have known each other since 1998, when they co-starred in the short-lived Channel Ten soap opera Breakers, and began appearing together in Home and Away since 2016, when Stewart joined the series.

Ada added that it was an amazing experience to have their long-time friendship turn into romance, and that they kept things strictly professional while on set.

“We’ve known each other for a long time, like 25 years. We’ve been friends for a long time. It was very unexpected, but we’re happy and it’s really lovely,” she explained.

“We’re professionals, we keep everything very separate. We’ve always felt very comfortable working together. We’ve always gotten along very well on set and nothing has changed,” he added.

Ada finally broke her silence on her romance with James earlier this month.

The lovebirds were first linked earlier this year when they were spotted sharing a kiss on Anzac Day.

It has since been claimed that things are getting serious between the couple and they are considering moving in together, but have remained tight-lipped about their romance.

Ada confirmed she was dating her long-time co-star James in a magazine interview, describing their romance as “unexpected.”

But she insisted the fact her Home And Away characters Leah Patterson and Justin Morgan tied the knot on screen was not an early sign of their real-life romance.

The couple began dating after Ada split from ex-partner Adam Rigby just before Christmas last year and James finalised his divorce from Sarah Roberts in March.
