An 83-year-old Holocaust survivor was “stabbed to death” today outside her nursing home in Israel.
Ludmila Lipovsky was attacked while waiting for her daughter to pick her up to take her to a doctor’s appointment in the city of Herzliya, outside Tel Aviv, on Friday morning.
Her attacker was allegedly former Shin Bet informant turned Palestinian terrorist Ibrahim Shalhoub, originally from the West Bank city of Tulkarem.
Ms Lipovsky was treated by the Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom before being rushed to hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead.
Shalhoub had previously been detained three times, most recently between June 2023 and June 2024, Jewish chronicle reported.
The attack in De Shalit Square occurred on the second day of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

An anonymous staff member at Ms. Lipovsky’s nursing home told the Israel Times that he heard “screams” when the elderly woman was stabbed “five or six times.”
She said: “She (Ms Lipovsky) went out and waited for her daughter to take her to the doctor and the terrorist started stabbing her five or six times.”
‘She has been a resident of this nursing home for many years. I heard screams, I went out and saw her lying on the ground.’
The Israel Police said in a statement: “Police emergency dispatch received a call of a terrorist stabbing attack at a shopping center in Herzliya.
‘A 28-year-old terrorist from Judea and Samaria arrived here armed with a knife and began stabbing people.
“According to medical sources, one of those victims was a woman who was here enjoying her morning, getting ready for vacation, getting ready for Shabbat, when this suspect started stabbing her.”
The force confirmed that the suspect was shot before being arrested and that a large police presence remained at the scene.
Ms Lipovsky (pictured) screamed as she was stabbed “five or six times”, a staff member at her care home said.

In a statement on X, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said: ‘Heartbreaking news. This morning, Ludmila Lipovsky (83) was stabbed to death by a Palestinian terrorist in Herzliya. Our hearts go out to his family. May his memory be a blessing.’
Yaki Lopez, a diplomat at the ministry, said Ms Lipovsky had been “brutally massacred” as she walked down the street.
He said: ‘She was someone’s mother, grandmother, friend. A life stolen in a despicable act of hate. Israel mourns their loss and stands united against terrorism. An evil like this will never break us.
