Heinrich Klaasen was in beast mode during SunRisers Hyderabad’s IPL 2024 match against Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday evening. The right-handed South African batsman hit 80 not out off just 34 balls with the help of 4 fours and 7 sixes. His strike rate was 235.29. While Klaasen’s dangerous form was in the spotlight during the game, his fifteen-month-old daughter also attracted attention for her cuteness. The child was seen waving the SRH flag while cheering for her father from the match venue during the match, leaving the internet in awe.

“The best seat in the house? Right next to daddy’s biggest fan! HK’s little one was all ours today,” SRH wrote while sharing the video on social media.

Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 277 for 3 for the highest ever total in the Indian Premier League and defeated Mumbai Indians by 31 runs in a six-hitting festival on Wednesday.

It rained boundaries in Hyderabad’s innings of 18 sixes and 19 fours as South African pair Klaasen and Aiden Markram, who hit 42, posted an unbeaten stand of 116.

Mumbai replied strongly in the match, which witnessed 38 sixes for yet another IPL record, bettering the 33 hits clubbed over the fence thrice in previous seasons.

Left-handed Tilak Varma stood out with his 64 in 34 balls for Mumbai but the effort was not enough on a batting-friendly delivery in veteran batsman Rohit Sharma’s 200th IPL match.

Mumbai’s South African import Kwena Maphaka had a painful introduction to IPL as the 17-year-old left-armer quickly made 66 runs in his four overs.

Five-time winners Mumbai, who changed captains after Hardik Pandya took over from the experienced Rohit, have now lost their first two matches in IPL 2024.
