New Delhi:

Bollywood actor Govinda, who was part of the 1998 blockbuster Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has endorsed the upcoming film of the same name alongside Amitabh Bachchan. Producer Jackky Bhagnani, who is producing the film, in a recent conversation with News18 Showsha, revealed that Govinda, who played Chote Miyan in the 1998 film, had watched the trailer of the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial. “Amit’s uncle was busy, but I got a chance to meet Chichi Bhaiya at his home a day before the trailer launch of the film and showed him the trailer. He saw it and said to me: ‘Your director is a very good man.’

“When I asked him how he could predict the same, he told me that Ali has not done a film but a cinema with Bade Miya Chote Miyan. We all know that Chichi bhaiya is a veteran and legend. I grew up before him. And his words gave me so much confidence. It was just great. I’m a creative person who produces now. It made me so happy. We all work day and night so that people like what we have created and praise us,” Jackky added.

While this film bears the title of the 1998 comedy classic, this reboot ventures into new territory, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff as the dynamic duo, replacing the iconic Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda. While the original duo played police officers, Akshay and Tiger take on the role of elite soldiers who embark on a journey across the world to thwart a vengeful, masked villain, played by Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The film was reportedly made on a budget of over ₹300 crore. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is slated for a theatrical release on April 10. It will clash with Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan.
