Bodycam footage shows the moment a vicious thug attacked a female police officer even as he writhed in pain after being Tasered.
Noah Spells, 40, pleaded guilty at Southport Magistrate’s Court to several offences, including aggravated assault on a police officer, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and using a weapon to cause fear. He was sentenced to two years in prison.
Video played to the court showed Spells asleep at the wheel of a car in Pagewood on the Gold Coast on December 13.
He was awakened by the female officer who noted that he was ‘under the influence’.
He appears to be rummaging through the car as the officer told him to leave, then he suddenly stalks the much smaller officer and forces her to fire the Taser.
Spells screamed in pain as he writhed on the ground before launching another attack just seconds later, grabbing her by the hair and wrestling her to the road.

She can be heard screaming in pain during the attack and was later heard gasping for breath and calling for backup.
Separate footage taken by a concerned neighbor shows Spells standing over the officer for a brief second before turning and taking off down the road.
Spells was tracked down and arrested shortly after, while the officer was taken to Pindara Hospital in a stable condition with head and body injuries.
A firearm and several rounds of ammunition were discovered in the car he fled from. It is believed he reached for the weapon when the officer confronted him.
The court heard this was the latest act in a series of recent crimes committed by Springs while out on parole.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Matthew Thompson said Spells stole a car from a car wash the day before.
He would continue to brandish a ‘revolver-like shotgun’ at the car’s owner as he attempted to retrieve the stolen property, that Gold Coast Bulletin reported.
He went on to tell the court that Spells’ extensive rap sheet includes numerous crimes of a similar nature.
Spells’ defense attorney, Jason Grant, said his client grew up in a wealthy household but had fallen into drug use and a life of crime.

Grant said his actions led to his family severing ties with Spells and, in turn, the ‘life he was used to’.
He said his client had admitted the assault would have been “terrifying” for the officer and that his list of offenses was serious.
Presiding Judge Dzenita Balic said Spells’ pre-arrest fall was clearly caused by things going “significantly wrong”.
Balic noted that Spells’ future is still bright as his mother makes efforts to reconnect with the 40-year-old.
Spells will be eligible for parole on April 13 of next year.
