Gene Gallagher has revealed he doesn’t think an Oasis reunion could ever “work”, after it was rumoured the band could be getting back together.
The 23-year-old musician is the son of Liam Gallagher, 51, and nephew of Noel Gallagher, 57, but the brothers have not spoken in years amid a massive feud.
The Wonderwall hitmakers, who also included Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan and Tony McCarroll, split in 2009 after a backstage row between the brothers.
Gene, whose mother is All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, is a member of indie band Villanelle and they supported Noel on tour, and often jokes with his sister Anais about the idea of their father reuniting with his old band.

“It has nothing to do with us. They’re both too smart for that, it would never work.”

Despite not yet having a record label, Gene has high hopes for Villanelle, which also consists of Ben Taylor on guitar, Jack Schiavo on bass and Andrew Richmond on drums.
The band formed earlier this year and supported Liam on tour, but the young rock star insisted he’s no baby nepo.
He said: “People say to me, ‘Ooh, it must be so easy for you to form a band.’ It’s not. We’re earning our stripes.”
The Hinge rockers jumped at the chance to take to the stage, with Gene recalling turning up on a “massive tour bus” that he said was “even bigger than the venue itself.”
Gene has been writing songs for several years and also recalled that his famous father encouraged him to enter the music scene, but on the condition that he be good.
She said that earlier this year she was only given the chance to open the show for her father if she behaved well, after being warned that she would only “cringe” if her performance was not up to par.

The two brothers were reportedly planning to meet at the London Stadium on July 8, 9 and 10 in an attempt to mend their very public feud.
Earlier this year there were strong rumours that Oasis were getting back together and they had even ‘secretly’ booked three dates at Wembley Arena.
But Liam confirmed that he knew nothing about these rumours and explained to a fan that he was not aware of the agreement.
On Twitter, one fan asked: “Liam, is the Oasis reunion next year actually happening?”
The musician then joked: “Nobody told me that maybe a new singer like the guy from Queen would come out.”
