“Such a young kid shouldn’t have the flag for a club like United”: Ex-Liverpool defender Glen Johnson says Jadon Sancho should not go to Old Trafford and supports Reds to “get him on the team the right way bleed ‘
Jadon Sancho would make the wrong decision if he chose Manchester United over Liverpool or Chelsea, Glen Johnson claims.
The 19-year-old is one of the most popular talents in world football after a stunning spell with Borussia Dortmund, and he has been consistently associated with a return to England.
As revealed by Sportsmail on Wednesday Liverpool joined United and the Blues in the race to sign him as soon as the window reopened, with the English international likely to cost potential suitors more than £ 100 million.

The former Liverpool defender believes Sancho should instead join Jurgen Klopp
Johnson, however, claims that although a move to Old Trafford would look good on his resume, it would hamper his development.
“Almost everyone who can pay his transfer costs will want him so that he can take the time to choose his next club,” Johnson said talkSPORT.
“But I think it would be the wrong decision to sign for Man United.
“If he’s going to a team like United right now, it’s a great club, of course, and it would look great on his resume, but the team isn’t where they should be and I think as a young child she’s too busy would exercise on him from the first day.
‘Such a young kid doesn’t have to fly the flag for a club like United. I think he would feel the pressure everywhere in the Premier League, so that would be hard to carry with him.

“Marcus Rashford now flies the flag for them and his body feels the punishment. You have to be careful with young children, because some are still growing.

“If he went to Chelsea or Liverpool or maybe a club in Spain, because he didn’t need to make an impression right away, they would make him bleed into the team over time, which would help his development. He may not be guaranteed to start every week, but he would do it the right way.
“While if he went to United, he would start every week, but the team is struggling so it would be hard for him to find his feet.”
Jamie Carragher, former Johnson teammate in Liverpool, is also lyrical about the attacker and has said he would be a ‘no-brainer’ for every club in the top flight of England.
“Sancho is currently one of the best young players in world football, especially when you look at his actual statistics for Borussia Dortmund,” he said Luchtsport Football Weekend Preview Podcast.
The former Liverpool defender believes he would be a ‘no brainer’ for every top in England
“He’s an English player that I think will be desperate to come back, so I think he’s the most exciting thing anyone wants to get into the Premier League.
“Will he be a hit? I think so. It’s a no-brainer, look how well he played in a top class with a top club under pressure.
“He plays week in, week out, his songs are fantastic and his age is just perfect.”
Manchester City, United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also interested in the 19-year-old who is breaking the Bundesliga this season.
He has 15 goals and 17 assists for Dortmund in Germany this year.
