With Mother’s Day approaching this weekend, Brits across the country are looking for the perfect gift to commemorate the special day.
This year it falls on Sunday, March 10 in the United Kingdom, although it is celebrated later in the year in the United States.
In the near future, those who have yet to find a gift for the mother figure in their life may feel a hint of panic.
Flowers, chocolates, and jewelry can make the occasion expensive, but there are ways to give things that are full of love and won’t cost you a cent, and that’s to create them yourself.
A crafty TikToker from Italy, who posts under the handle @artgogishared a DIY Mother’s Day gift idea that you can make at home.

The video, which has already been viewed by over 8.7 million people, is all you’ll need is a card, scissors, glue and thread.
Start by drawing the shape of a flower pot on brown cardstock and cutting it out.
Next, the DIY pro pencils some teardrop shapes onto lilac, pink, and peach card—three of each.
However, you can choose colors that you know your mother figure loves.
Once you have drawn them, cut them out; It may be tedious, but it will be worth it for the end result.
After this, you should have three tears of each color: fold two of them in half and glue them on either side of the third, unfolding the edges to make it more 3D.
This should now look like a tulip, simply repeat the process with each of your colors and cut some stems out of green cardstock.
Glue your new flowers to the top of the stems and once they are assembled, glue them to the brown pot you cut out earlier.
You can then add another message to the inside of the pot if you wish, with this handmade fan that writes “Dear Mom, thank you for helping me grow.”

If you have a hole punch, create a hole on each side of the pot and thread the string through each side, tying it to create a bow at the front.
At this point, you should have an adorable handmade tulip pot and you can write a message of your choice on the front.
The TikToker in the video opted for a simple ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ with some hearts, drawn in black marker.
Then you can add another message to the inside of the pot if you wish, with this writing in the shape of a handmade fan: “Dear Mom, thank you for helping me grow.”
Impressed commenters wrote: “OMG beautiful flower” and “OMG she’s so pretty.”
Others chimed in with: ‘How beautiful’ and ‘Wow, what a really easy gift idea!’ Everything else is very difficult.”
