South Sydney Rabbitohs junior Toby Sullivan has avoided conviction after recording himself having sex with a woman without her permission.

Sullivan, 21, was sentenced on Tuesday at Waverley Local Court after pleading guilty to intentionally recording an intimate image without consent.

Court documents state the offense occurred on December 16, 2023, when the talented Rabbitohs prospect was on a night out with friends at the Coogee Pavilion Hotel in Sydney’s east.

CCTV footage showed the young football star with a 34-year-old woman on the hotel dance floor.

The couple later went to an address in Bondi where they had consensual sex in the living room.

The couple soon moved into the bedroom, where Sullivan recorded himself and the woman on his phone while she had her back to him.

Court documents noted that the woman grabbed her phone and deleted the recording when she realized what was happening.

“It’s just for kids,” Sullivan explained, before attempting to excuse his behavior by adding that he was “just a kid.”

Sullivan left the property shortly after and the victim reported the incident to police the next day.

Sullivan was charged in March, but initially denied doing anything wrong, even telling police he was not at the Coogee Pavilion Hotel on the night in question.

Police later recovered the deleted files from Sullivan’s phone along with a selfie he took while inside the woman’s residence.

On Tuesday, Magistrate Michael Barko wondered why the young soccer star couldn’t “enjoy the sunset” without having to take a photo.

‘Can’t you enjoy a sunset, outdoors or even having sex?’

Barko later added: “Some would say the defendant was lucky to even be there, much less share it with his peers.”

Barko imposed an 18-month probation order on Sullivan.
