Jethro Sheeran used to call his cousin Ed his 'brother', but they fell out over music

Charity begins at home, they say.

But a powerful feud between Ed Sheeran and one of his relatives boiled over when his cousin launched an extraordinary online rant claiming the £375million megastar is trying to ruin him.

Jethro Sheeran, a Bristol rapper, accused Ed of personally ordering his record label Warner Music to threaten him with legal action, calling him a “silver spoon weirdo” and urging his bandmate Stormzy to “talk” to him.

The dispute centers on his claims that Ed personally ordered Warner to force Jethro to remove both his name and face from the artwork of a remix of one of their past collaborations.

Jethro, who goes by the stage name Alonestar, used to call the British star his “brother,” but today declared: “Ed. I’m not a fan, can’t you just live your life? Let me do my thing and you do yours.” .

The family feud erupted in September when Warner Music demanded that Ed’s face and name be removed from the artwork for Raise Em Up, a song they recorded together 14 years ago.

The 42-year-old complied, but said he and his lawyers were “shocked” that Ed “could do this to his family.”

And today MailOnline can reveal that Jethro has once again poured fuel on the fire in an open Facebook post where he said he had to tell the “truth” about his famous cousin.

Not only did he claim that Ed Sheeran ordered the legal warning from Warner Music, but he claims that the record label’s own lawyer was ‘shocked’ by the decision.

And it seems to suggest that it wasn’t just the art that had to change, with Jethro accusing Ed of having “deleted (sic) all my songs”.

‘I’m so tired of lying and hiding the truth. Everyone blames the lawyers and managers. Warner Music UK’s lawyer was also surprised, as were my lawyers, as to why Ed Sheeran activated her in this case.

It was all Ed. I don’t care anymore, I’m not going to lie for him,’ he said.

He accused Ed of deleting “all my songs.”

“Those songs help my daughter, my mother, our Sheeran family, stay safe, eat and survive. It’s him, disgusting and shameful, and I write and produce the songs.”

Urging his more famous cousin to leave him alone, he wrote: “Go do a pop tour with someone please brother… go with Stormzy… I know a lot… Edward, don’t trip anymore, leave me alone.” peace to make my life”. thing and you do yours. The storms have a word with this silver spoon weirdo…God bless you all.

MailOnline has contacted Sheeran and Warner Music for comment.

Jethro’s plans for the new Raise Em Up cover to be him and Ed, 33, are in tatters. They recorded it together in 2010.

Since then, Alonestar has released 21 mix versions of Raise Em Up on Spotify. He also appeared in the 2013 film All Stars.

Ed Sheeran also appeared in one of his music videos, wearing a hoodie and using a crowbar to smash a vehicle. Jethro also appeared on Ed Sheeran’s singles Move On, Pause and You Need Me, I Don’t Need You.

Jethro has collaborated with several famous musicians, including 2 Pac, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, and Snoop Dogg.

Jethro affectionately called Ed “cuzzie” and there are countless photos of them and their family on social media, but it’s clear their relationship has broken down.

While Jethro claims that Ed is threatening his livelihood, the pop star’s own wealth continues to grow.

In May, the Shape Of You singer was crowned the UK’s richest young musician with £340million.

The next richest British pop star under 40 is former One Direction member Styles, 30, who earned £175million through music and film appearances.

Using some of his enormous wealth, Ed recently bought a minority stake in Ipswich Town Football Club, at a time when the team’s fortunes have soared on and off the pitch.

Ipswich are back in the Premier League having beaten Spurs 2-1 in their most recent match and will play Manchester United on Sunday in a match the star is likely to attend.

And reports have now claimed that Sheeran also played a major role in Ipswich’s summer business after convincing a player to sign for the club.

speaking in Soccerex In Miami, Florida, Ipswich chief executive Mark Ashton said: ‘He’s a local man, a global superstar, a football club sponsor and shareholder and now officially part of our recruitment team!

‘In the summer we were trying to persuade a particular player to join the football club and we quickly realized he was an Ed Sheeran fan.

The player was not named, but they were said to be “scoring a lot of goals” (Pictured: Ipswich forwards Sammie Szmodics, left, and Liam Delap, right)

“Ed did a Zoom call with him at training camp right before he went on stage with Taylor Swift and hopefully that was a key part of getting the player over the line.”

Ashton refused to name the player in question, but did reveal: “He’s certainly scoring some goals.”

That probably means the player is either Liam Delap, who has six league goals this year and looks set to be Harry Kane’s future replacement in England, or Sammie Szmodics, who has three top-flight goals and plays regularly for Ireland.

Ed, who is a lifelong supporter of the team, has sponsored Ipswich since 2021 and has now agreed a deal to acquire a 1.4 per cent stake in the club.

He said in a statement: “I am very excited to have bought a small percentage of my hometown football club.

“The dream of any football fan is to own the club they support and I am very grateful for this opportunity.”

Ipswich have enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years and Ed can’t wait to see them in action in the Premier League.

He added: ‘I have lived in Suffolk since I was three and, although I travel the world and sometimes feel like an outsider in big cities, Suffolk and Ipswich have always made me feel part of the community and protected.

“It is a great pleasure to be an Ipswich Town fan. There are ups and downs, but football is about dealing with the ups and downs.

“I’m not a voting shareholder or a member of the board of directors, I’m just the one who puts some money into the club I love and they return the gesture, so please don’t harass me with signing suggestions.” or tactics to play”.
