The Dean of Chester, the Reverend Dr Tim Stratford, is on hand to calm any pre-wedding jitters and offers a warm handshake to the groom, 33, before his big day.

A spokesperson for the couple said today: “It means a lot to them to get married at Chester Cathedral, especially given the Grosvenor family’s long and close personal connection with both the Cathedral and the city of Chester.”

The 33-year-old seventh duke, universally known as ‘Hughie’ among his aristocratic friends, greets the hundreds of gathered Cestrians – as the people of Chester are known – as he enters the cathedral to await his bride…

The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson is among 400 guests arriving at Chester Cathedral ahead of the midday wedding between the duke and his bride, Olivia Henson… the princess offered a wide smile to well-wishers as she entered to the cathedral.
