The man, 24, was arrested by Australian federal police on Tuesday after leaving a shelter in the bush in Winthrop in south Perth.
He was arrested a short time later at his workplace in Joondalup, where investigators confiscated nearly $ 17,000 in cash, a small hand shovel and gardening gloves.
Police will claim that the man recently retrieved the dirty money from the hideout in the woods.
He was reportedly seen by AFP agents buried a blue bag containing nearly 10kg of meth in undergrowth near a park in Edgewater, north Perth, in March.
The drugs were then reportedly collected by a senior member of the Hell’s Angels bikie gang.
On March 18, the same man was observed by AFP investigators collecting drugs in dense undergrowth in Queens Park.
Later he saw that he bought two duffel bags in Joondalup, which he took to the bushland.
