Perhaps there is an answer for those trying to connect the dots drawn by Lily Allen during her latest podcast interview.
Lily has sparked inevitably wild speculation over the identity of a “successful and incredibly beautiful” A-list star who allegedly warned her about her musician boyfriend.
Allen, now 39 and happily married to Stranger Things star David Harbour, was 24 when the alleged incident occurred during preparations for a charity fundraiser in 2009.
The alleged incident prompted Allen to exact revenge at a subsequent awards ceremony, but the singer insists she has since forgiven the unknown celebrity and addressed her publicly to apologize for being “particularly mean.”
“Anyway, I’ve forgiven everyone for it, but she’s probably just finding out about it now. So if you’re listening and you recognize yourself in this story, I’m sorry. It was particularly mean.”
Lily Allen has sparked inevitably wild speculation over the identity of a “successful and incredibly beautiful” A-list star who allegedly warned her about her musician boyfriend before a duet at a charity show.

Talking about her Miss me? In a podcast, the mother-of-two claims she was confronted by a female celebrity who was “older” and “more successful and famous” than her, after she was asked to perform at the event with the mystery star’s musician boyfriend.
According to Allen, the unnamed star told her: “If you think I’m going to leave you alone with my f***ing boyfriend, you’ve got a whole lot more coming,” leaving her determined to “get her back someday.”
Allen does not name the woman in question, but it could be supermodel Kate Moss.
The British star attended Hoping’s Got Talent charity fundraising event, hosted by Moss and held at London’s Café de Paris, in 2009.
That night, Allen helped raise £48,350 for children’s charity The Hoping Foundation after taking to the stage with Moss’s then-boyfriend Jamie Hince, guitarist for rock band The Kills, for a performance of Dream A Little Dream Of Me.
The X-Factor-themed event was also attended by stars including Guy Ritchie, Jemima Khan, Will Young, Tracy Emin and David Walliams, who raised money for community projects for children in Palestinian refugee camps.
Moss would eventually marry Hince in 2011 during an intimate ceremony at St Peter’s Church in Gloucestershire, before filing for divorce five years later.
On Monday, Allen recalled that she had been sent to the home of teetotaler Sir Elton John in an attempt to curb his excessive drinking, when the actor asked her for a favour to help raise money for charity.

Moss attended the GQ Men of the Year Awards in 2009 but stormed out after James Nesbitt made a crude joke at her expense.
She detailed: ‘That was when I was being managed by Elton John’s company and they had sent me to his house in the south of France to dry out for a couple of weeks.
‘And while I was there, I got a phone call from someone very famous at the time who asked me if I could perform at a charity event they were involved in; she asked me to sing a song with her boyfriend, who was a musician.
“I said, ‘I’d love to, but it’s next week and I don’t have time to rehearse because I’m in the south of France.’ She said, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll come there and rehearse with you.'”
She said: ‘They come to the south of France, they arrive, and it’s like late afternoon and she says ‘I think you should sing The Sound of Silence’.
“And I thought, ‘Oh, I don’t know anything about that, I don’t really want to do it, that’s out of my comfort zone.’ And she got angry.
‘I thought, ‘I think maybe it would be better for us to do something like Something Stupid.’
‘I said, “Look, I’ll come down with your boyfriend and we’ll practice the song and then we’ll come up and sing it for you and see what you think.”
Although she declined to name names, she said the mystery star was “incredibly beautiful”, “older” and “more successful and famous” than her, while her then-boyfriend was a musician.
On her Miss Me? podcast, Allen recalled being sent to Elton’s house in an attempt to curb his excessive drinking, when the star asked her for a favour to help raise money for charity (pictured with Elton and David Furnish in 2009).
“And she said, ‘If you think I’m going to leave you alone with my fucking boyfriend, you’re wrong.'”
Allen said the incident left her shaken, but she decided to channel her feelings into revenge.
She said: ‘I was alone in that house and it was just the two of them and me, and she was quite a bit older than me, and much more famous and more successful, and I thought, ‘I’m abandoned and you’ve got me fooled. ‘
“And I thought, ‘I’ll hold on to this feeling and remember it, and I’ll get you back someday.'”
“Her boyfriend wasn’t someone I found remotely attractive and she was incredibly beautiful (and still is), so I shouldn’t have been considered a threat. I was definitely in my fat, drugged-out phase.”
A few weeks later, she was approached by an awards ceremony to honor her with a prestigious award.
Allen recalled: ‘And then they said, “Is there anyone you’d like me to give this award to?” I asked, “At what point in the process is this award given?” And they said it was the second-to-last award.
Lily decided to channel her feelings into revenge when a few weeks later she was offered the prestigious award (pictured at the 2009 GQ Men of the Year Awards).
However, despite the previous mistreatment, Lily insisted she had since forgiven the unknown celebrity and addressed her publicly to apologise for being “particularly mean” (pictured last week).
“I thought, ‘There’s no way this person can stay strong for this long and if I can stay sober, then she’s going to have to hand me the award when I’m looking flawless and shiny and she looks completely fucked up.'”
He added that his plan was a success, saying: “And it worked like a charm. The next day’s newspapers read: ‘So-and-so was a complete disaster’, and then pictures of me with my prize.”
The anecdote also points to Moss, who presented Allen with the Woman of the Year award at the 2009 GQ Awards.
The event did not end well for Moss, who was pictured storming out after actor James Nesbitt made a risqué joke at her expense, with subsequent photos drawing attention to her blemish-ridden complexion.
Reflecting on the incident, Allen said: “I actually like that person a lot now. It was just a particularly bad phase that we were both going through at the time.”
“Anyway, I’ve forgiven everyone for it, but she’s probably just finding out about it now. So if you’re listening and you recognize yourself in this story, I’m sorry. It was particularly mean.”
