According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 31.6 degrees Celsius on Monday, two notches below the seasonal average.
The relative humidity fluctuated between 90 and 30 percent during the day.
The weather bureau has forecast partly cloudy skies with gusty winds likely to prevail on Tuesday, reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph, and maximum and minimum temperatures likely to reach 33 and 18 degrees Celsius respectively.
Temperatures are expected to be between 33 and 37 degrees Celsius over the next seven days, with no heat waves expected.
According to the IMD’s weekly forecast, skies will be generally cloudy accompanied by gusty winds in the capital for the next four days.
The hottest day of the past month was recorded on March 30, with a maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius.
