Cristian Romero was clearly unimpressed with the referee’s decision to disallow Micky van de Ven’s goal in Sunday’s defeat to Arsenal.
The Gunners took an early lead when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg headed Bukayo Saka’s corner into his own goal.
The home team thought they had recovered level when Van de Ven took advantage of a loose ball to beat David Raya.
However, VAR ruled that the Netherlands international was slightly offside despite Pedro Porro’s shot rebounding off Gabriel Magalhaes.
And Romero took to X to claim that West Ham had a similar goal during their 2-1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this season.
Micky van de Ven thought he had equalized for Tottenham but the goal was disallowed
A deflected shot by Romero and another Tottenham defender on that occasion allowed Jarred Bowen to fire home.
Romero wrote: “West Ham scored the same goal against us at home”, clearly frustrated by the decision.

However, the defender was quick to clear the post and it was probably because he was actually the man playing with Bowen to score the goal.
Arsenal made their rivals pay after the goal was disallowed with Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz making it 3-0 at half-time.
The hosts managed to score two goals with Romero scoring before Son Heung-min scored from the spot.
Romero was quick to delete his post and fans let him know it was pointless.
