Chrissy Teigen and John Legend sold a 8,520-square-foot, seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom mansion they owned in Beverly Hills for $16.8 million after years of effort to unload the prime property.
Teigen, 35, and Legend, 42, had moved out of their home last August, according to the New York Post, which went on the market in escrow after just a week last year at a retail price of $24 million.
Douglas Elliman, Beverly Hills real estate agent Marshall Peck told the outlet that the aforementioned deal fell through, causing delays in the process while giving potential buyers the wrong impression that the property was not on the market.

The famous family — including children Luna, five, and Miles, three, and Chrissy’s mother Vilailuck Teigen — had moved out of a larger house that was being renovated as Teigen was expecting their third child, but they tragically lost the baby last October. and Teigen said on Instagram in December that she never will be [pregnant] again.’
At the time, Teigen and Legend — who bought the home in 2016 for $14.1 million — had been looking to sell the Beverly Hills home for $22.5 million, according to the outlet.
The pair had put the property on the market in May for $17.7 million, and a private-equity executive ended up making the winning offer, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Built in 1966, the home was once owned by Rihanna, who later sold it in 2014 for $7.65 million after lawsuits over its construction. Investors who bought the home made significant renovations two years later prior to the purchase of Teigen and Legend, including a personal gym and movie theater.

Peck told the Post that the house is “without a doubt the most beautiful house in Beverly Hills” and that “it has the most beautiful finish I’ve ever seen.”
He added, “It has 33-foot ceilings, a sculptural staircase, floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive canyon views, while custom Thailand teak ceilings, cerus oak floors with steel-rolled clay walls exude sensuality.”

In some cases, Courtney Stodden is involved; Teigen had publicly apologized to Stodden in a tweet in May, but Stodden said Teigen has not yet done so privately.
“I’m mortified and saddened by who I used to be, I was an insecure, attention-seeking troll,” Teigen wrote. “I’m ashamed and completely ashamed of my behavior, but that’s nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.”
