Caitlin Clark playfully poked fun at her boyfriend Connor McCaffery on Saturday while posting on Instagram for his birthday.
The couple played basketball at the University of Iowa and met in high school when Clark became a household name across the country.
And the Indiana Fever rookie joked about a friendly competition between the two when McCaffrey turned 26.
“Happy birthday, Con! Celebrating you is easy 🙂 I’m thankful to have someone as selfless and loving as you in my life,” she wrote. “May this be the year you finally find a way to get over me 😉 I’ll love you always.”
Clark posted four photos on his Instagram carousel, including one of McCaffery kissing his head and another of them hugging on the court.

Clark and Connor McCaffery met while both playing at the University of Iowa in college.
While McCaffery never became a college star like Clark, he proved to be a reliable player over six seasons for the Hawkeyes.
He played 166 games (89 of them as a starter) and averaged 4.5 points per game along with 3.7 assists.
Clark, as mentioned, definitely has him beat in the shooting category, as he shot just 31.7 percent from three during his career.
The Fever rookie, who was initially left off the U.S. Olympic roster, was given a lifeline for Paris as Diana Taurasi battles a leg injury.
Taurasi, a six-time Olympian and point guard for the Phoenix Mercury, has missed her team’s last four WNBA games because of the issue.
Clark also shared a photo of the couple sharing a hug on the court after an Iowa game.
