At least 10 people have died and another 39 have been injured after a terrible bus accident in Türkiye.
An official confirmed that the incident occurred on Sunday on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) highway in Yenice, according to reports.
Police, ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene in Turkey’s southern Mersin province after the bus skidded into the oncoming lane and collided with oncoming traffic.
The intercity passenger bus reportedly diverted into the wrong lane due to rain, causing it to slip, however, authorities have launched an investigation and the reasons for the accident are yet to be clarified.
Two other cars and a truck were involved in the subsequent crash, reports the Ihlas news agency and Xinhua.

The bus was reportedly traveling from Diyarbakir to Istanbul when the tragic incident occurred.
Two other cars and a truck were involved in the crash that followed.
Shocking images show the aftermath of the accident, as emergency workers surround the scene.
In one photo, a wrecked white truck is seen behind the yellow bus, with the remains of a car next to it.
The bus was reportedly traveling from Diyarbakir to Istanbul when the tragic incident took place.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the death count on X (formerly Twitter) and paid tribute to the victims.
He wrote: ‘A passenger bus going from Diyarbakır to Istanbul collided with 2 passenger cars and 1 truck on the road in Yenice District, Tarsus District, Mersin Province.
‘According to the first conclusions, unfortunately 10 (of) our citizens lost their lives and 39 (of) our citizens were injured.
‘May God have mercy on our citizens who lost their lives in the accident and patience with their families; I wish a speedy recovery to our wounded. My deepest condolences to our nation.’
