Former Pittsburgh Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger was named again in Donald Trump’s trial on Monday when Michael Cohen revealed the former president’s bizarre view of quarterback and porn star Stormy Daniels.

Trump is currently on trial in New York City over allegations that he falsified business records to conceal a payment to Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, in an attempt to conceal an alleged sexual encounter between the couple.

Cohen took the stand Monday to detail his involvement in the alleged secrecy money, as he was serving as Trump’s attorney at the time of the payment.

While under oath, Cohen claimed that Trump told him he believed Daniels preferred him over Super Bowl-winning men like Roethlisberger.

Roethlisberger retired from the NFL in 2021 as one of the most prolific passers in league history with the fifth-most passing yards of all time (64,088). His two Super Bowl wins in Pittsburgh came in the 2005 and 2008 seasons.

Roethlisberger was also named during Trump’s trial last Tuesday by Daniels under oath, who said the quarterback was with Trump during one of his first interactions with the future president.

The secret trial mainly revolves around an alleged $130,000 that Daniels received to remain silent about her affair with the former president of the United States.

Daniels previously spoke about her experience with Roethlisberger in her 2018 book ‘Full Disclosure,’ stating that she felt ‘terrified’ of him when Trump asked him to walk her back to her hotel room.

According to her version of events, the then-NFL star asked him for a ‘kiss goodnight’ and was rebuffed, before he refused to leave and continued knocking on her door for a few minutes.

Five years after those allegations, Daniels shed more light on her meeting with Roethlisberger last week, recalling trying on his Super Bowl ring after Trump introduced them at a VIP club in Lake Tahoe.

Trump is said to have introduced her as his “little friend Stormy,” before describing the Steelers legend as “Big Ben.”

Roethlisberger declined to comment after Daniels published her book in 2018.

Two years after the alleged incident, he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a Lake Tahoe hotel room, before settling out of court for an unspecified sum in 2012.

Roethlisberger also faced accusations of sexual assault by a woman in Georgia in 2010, only for the district attorney to decline to press charges. However, the NFL decided to give him a six-game suspension which was later reduced to four games.

Roethlisberger was a first-round pick of the Steelers in 2004 and played his entire NFL career in Pittsburgh, which lasted until 2021.

Cohen was no longer representing Trump in legal matters as of May 2018.

Roethlisberger is eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026 and retired fifth on the NFL’s all-time passing yards list with 64,088 for his career.
