Celebrities like Abbie Chatfield are among thousands who marched at rallies across the country to protest gender violence, after an alarming rise in women allegedly murdered this year.
The ‘No More: National Rally Against Gender Violence’ rallies will take place in Sydney, Hobart and Adelaide on Saturday afternoon, with 12 more planned to take place in other capitals and regional cities on Sunday.
Chatfield, who is a strong supporter of women’s rights, attended the rally with her friends Kath Ebbs and one half of the Peking Duk duo, Adam Hyde.

Demonstrations, organized by advocacy group What Were You Wearing, also took place in Newcastle and Ballarat on Friday.
She shared a series of snaps on her Instagram Story of signs with powerful words carried by rally-goers.
‘Dear not all men… Where the hell are you?’ said a sign.
Large crowds of protesters in Sydney arrived at Belmore Park around 1pm on Saturday afternoon and could be seen holding signs reading “fed up with inaction”, “tax billionaires, fund response and prevention of sexual violence”, “how many of us have to die”. ?’ ‘they are not all men but they are always men’ and ’32, too many! Enough!.’
The crowd is expected to march towards Hyde Park.
