Bachelorette vet Jason Tartick was offered $ 100,000 to become the Bachelor, while fan favorite Dean Unglert was awarded a $ 75,000 contract to be the next leading man.

In an interview on Jason’s new podcast Trading secrets, the men discussed the salaries offered to contestants who appeared on Bachelor In Paradise, Bachelor Winter Games, and even as head of the shows.

Dean, 30, revealed that he negotiated his $ 400 to $ 600 Bachelor In Paradise daily pay because he was so popular after appearing in Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette.

“They hit me up and they said,” Hey, you wanna do Bachelor in Paradise? This other show that pays $ 400 a day? You could be there for 30 days, something like that, “he said on the podcast.

Saddled with $ 25,000 in debt, and after appearing in Rachel’s season for a while, Dean seized the opportunity.

“I was like, ‘Oh yeah, great. $ 400 dollars a day, 30 days, $ 12,000. That’s fantastic.”

But that changed when friends started telling him how desirable he really was, and Dean decided to ask for more money from the show.

‘I start talking to some friends and they say,’ You should get more money because … you will be the man they want the most from your season [to] go to Paradise minus, Peter [Kraus]. ”

He countered with $ 800 and ended up enjoying $ 600.

‘I just wish they would pay it could have been $ 1 more, you know, [out of] basically, ”he said. “I wanted them to pay me more than they offered the rest.”

While he didn’t find lasting love on Paradise, he did on Bachelor Winter Games with Lesley Murphy, where he was paid $ 400 a day. They left the show for a couple and eventually broke up.

Dean reappeared on Bachelor In Paradise, but after being slapped on the show during the last time for being involved in a love triangle, he charged $ 20,000 per episode, an amount he acknowledged was “ absurd. ”

When I said it too, I was kind of vindicated. I was like, “They’re not going to get me a dollar less than I need,” Dean explained. And then, as time went on, I thought, you know what, screw it up. I think I lost $ 602. ‘
