The crazed 46-year-old is said to have kicked the victim’s head like a football on a main road running through his hometown of Soto de Ribera, near the city of Oviedo in Asturias.

A police spokesman confirmed: ‘We have arrested a man on suspicion of killing his father.

“He was taken to a police station but given the conditions in which he was found, he was transferred to a hospital in Oviedo and admitted to a psychiatric unit.
