Richmond Tigers AFL legend Matthew Richardson got into trouble on the street, as Channel 7 footage showed.

Richmond great Matthew Richardson was an incredible AFL player, but his golf swing may need more work after two-time Major champion Bubba Watson roasted him live.

Richardson played 800 goals in 282 games and was working the commentary table during the match between Port Adelaide and St Kilda at Adelaide Oval.

Here, two-time Masters winner and former world No. 2 Bubba Watson, who was in Adelaide for a LIV Golf event, was invited to review Richardson’s golf swing.

When presented with video of Richardson missing the ball on a drive attempt, Watson was asked for advice on improving Richardson’s technique.

“Oh, wow,” Watson responds.

‘What did he do wrong?’ Brayshaw asks.

“He missed the ball, that’s the most important thing,” the 45-year-old American responded.

“But man, he looks athletic when he gets ready for it.”

“The setup is good, Bubba,” Richo is heard saying in the background with a big smile on his face.

“The setup was there,” Watson agreed. “It seemed like the ball was going to travel for miles.

“And then it went nowhere.”

Watson had played a first-round score of 70 under par at The Grange earlier in the day, with his team, RangeGoats GC, taking sixth place in the LIV competition.

The LIV Adelaide event at The Grange attracted an impressive crowd of more than 35,000 on its record-breaking opening day, while planning is already underway to accommodate even more spectators.

Among the players, Cam Smith and two other Australians stood out, contributing to a field where 72 percent shot under par, marking the lowest combined LIV score this year.

Unexpectedly, the leader was the Japanese Jinichiro Kozuma, ranked 545th in the world, with nine under par (63), reflecting the high score across the board with 263 birdies and a total of 141 under par for the field .

This performance was significantly better compared to last year’s opening day in 60 strokes.

Despite skepticism about the depth of LIV’s roster, the high quality of play was undeniable, highlighted by a substantial number of birdies.

Carlos Ortiz, who occupies second place with a 64, eight under par, mentioned that the course conditions were conducive to aggressive play.

The early rain altered the course conditions, making the game easier for the players, who almost all scored under par. Australian Lucas Herbert, however, struggled with a one-over 73.

Smith, amid massive support, started slowly but finished four under par, five shots behind Kozuma.

His team, Ripper GC, performed well and placed fifth in the team standings, driven by their ambition to win backed by extensive preparation.

Exciting moments of the event included an eagle by Abraham Ancer, which added to the excitement.

Attendance is expected to reach close to 100,000 people over three days, surpassing last year’s total, and the LIV Adelaide event is expected to grow even further in 2025, becoming one of the most anticipated events of the LIV season.
