Ambati Rayudu Consoles Hardik Pandya After Mumbai Indians' Loss vs Rajasthan Royals. Watch | Cricket News

Mumbai Indians are having an unforgettable performance in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the five-time champions have lost three matches on the trot. MI’s newly appointed skipper Hardik Pandya is currently at the bottom of the points table and is also facing heavy criticism from the fans ever since he replaced Rohit Sharma as captain. MI’s last defeat came against Rajasthan Royals, who restricted them to 125/9 and then chased down the target in just 15.3 overs.

After the defeat against RR, a very emotional moment was captured when Hardik sat in the dugout and interacted with Ambati Rayudu. Hardik kept his hand on Rayudu’s shoulder as the former MI batsman was seen consoling him.

“A tough evening, we didn’t start the way we wanted to start. I wanted to counter, we were in a good position to get around 150-160, but my wicket allowed them to get back into the game more. I still had a lot to do do more. It’s okay, we didn’t expect a surface like that, but you can’t always have it as a batsman. Sometimes it’s nice for the bowlers to have a say. It’s all about doing the right things Sometimes things happen ( right) results, at other times not. As a group we believe we can do much better, but we have to be a little more disciplined and show a lot more courage,” Hardik said after MI’s loss.

Earlier, former India cricketer and commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu echoed the sentiments of thousands of Rohit Sharma fans when he asked what the hitman had done wrong to be removed as Mumbai’s skipper.

“Nobody can digest the fact that India’s hero, the Indian captain, is not the captain of our franchise. ‘What did he do wrong?’ is what fans of the franchise would think,” said Navjot Sidhu on Star Sports.

“But what should he do? There is nothing like success. If he had won these two matches, there would have been no noise,” he added.
