New Delhi:

Imtiaz Alis Amar Singh Chamkila makes all the right noises prior to release. The biopic, which premieres on Netflix on April 12, stars Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role, opposite Parineeti Chopra. Now, just a week after the reveal Amar Singh Chamkila‘s trailer, the makers are all set to release the music video for the next song Tu Kya Jaane. The big news was announced by director Imtiaz Ali on Instagram along with a series of photos. The opening frame contains a poster of Tu Kya Jaane, starring Parineeti and Diljit. The song, composed by AR Rahman, has been sung by Yashika Sikka. The text is by Irshad Kamil. The next slide features a monochrome throwback image of the real Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur performing on stage. Next we get a glimpse of some behind the scenes stills from the sets of Amar Singh Chamkila, with the main characters. The entire series of photos ends with a candid click of music maestro AR Rahman and Yashika Sikka.

Imtiaz Ali shared the post and wrote, “Something is going on pehle zamaane ka pyaar, not true? And vintage melodies! New song ‘Tu Kya Jaane…” coming today! Best wishes.” Tu Kya Jaane singer Yashika Sikka was one of the first to acknowledge the post. In response, the singer wrote: “Thank you sir for approving my voice for this iconic film. It still feels surreal! And what a moment you captured here.”

A few days ago, Yashika Sikka shared a poster of Amar Singh Chamkilawith a selected part of Tu Kya Jaane is playing in the background. Along with the post, Yashika shared a detailed note, thanking AR Rahman and Imtiaz Ali for trusting her. The singer wrote: “A dream that I didn’t even think was worth dreaming came true a year and a half ago, out of nowhere. On September 22, 2022, I met the legend @arrahman Sir for the first time. Chills ran down my spine that day, and today, as I write this. A year and many sessions later he fulfilled the greatest desire I could ever have, and gave me “Tu Kya Jaane“. It didn’t sink in then, it hasn’t fully sunk in, even today. Not only did I get to sing the GOLDEN melody of Rahman Sir, it also had the golden words of the magician @kamil_irshad_official in it, AND for @ imtiazaliofficial l Sir’s film. Could I have asked for anything better? I feel like I am the luckiest girl in the world. Thank you, Rahman Sir, Imtiaz Ali Sir and Irshad Sir.”

Amar Singh Chamkila‘s leading lady, Parineeti Chopra, also shared a montage video with several BTS glimpses from the set. Sharing the video, she wrote: “How can I ever top this movie experience? Spoiled forever…” Look at this Amar Singh Chamkila‘s BTS glimpse here.
