Actor, producer and entrepreneur Alia Bhatt is all set to host her first Hope Gala in London. According to a source close to the actress’ team, Alia will host the Hope Gala in association with the Mandarin Oriental hotel group at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London on March 28. This is in support of Alia’s chosen charity Salaam Bombay, which focuses on engaging Mumbai’s most vulnerable ‘at-risk’ children through school-based programs (leadership and advocacy) and after-school academies (skills building) that help build their self-confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem build. -appreciate and oblige them to stay in school.
The Gala will reportedly be attended by prolific industrialists and philanthropists from India and London
Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia recently completed shooting for Jigra, which also stars Vedang Raina.
Announcing the wrap, she shared candid photos from the sets of the film on her Instagram a few days ago, featuring herself and Vedang.
Sharing the post, she wrote, “jigra oh… abki teri baari ho @vedangraina and that’s a movie review on #JIGRA @vasanbala @swapsagram. See you soon… September 27, 2024 at a theater near you.”
In the pictures, Alia was seen in a brand new short hair look for the film. Alia and Vedang were in a candid mood as they sat next to each other.
Vedang also shared the same photos and expressed her excitement on his Instagram account. He wrote, “And that sums up Jigra @aliaabhatt. A film and a character that gave as much to me as it took from me. A journey that meant everything. See you in theaters on September 27.”
Helmed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is co-produced by Karan Johar and Alia themselves. The film is all set to hit theaters on September 27, 2024.
Director Vasan Bala previously directed films like Monica O My Darling, a crime thriller Peddlers and Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. Jigra was announced in September last year.
The announcement video showed that the film is a story about a sister’s love for her brother and how she would do anything to protect him. Jigra marks Alia and Vasan’s first on-screen collaboration.
Alia will also be seen in director Farhan Akhtar’s film Jee Le Zaraa, alongside Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. The film promises to be another friendship story on the lines of Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. However, work on the film has not started yet.
