Moana Hope has shared a sweet tribute to her sister Livinia.

In an Instagram post on Monday, the former AFLW star brought attention to Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day, which her sister suffers from.

The 33-year-old shared an image of the pair of siblings along with a touching caption.

She wrote: ‘Today is Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day. So I want to take a moment to shine a light on this beautiful young lady. You are perfect the way you are’.

Moana is the sole caregiver for her sister Livinia – affectionately known as Vinny – who suffers from the rare neurological disorder.

The condition causes underdeveloped facial nerves and can affect the nerves responsible for speech, chewing, and swallowing.

She wrote: 'Today is Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day.  So I want to take a moment to shine a light on this beautiful young lady.  You are perfect the way you are'

Vinny lives with Moana and her two-year-old wife, model Isabella Carlstrom, and the couple’s one-year-old daughter, Svea.

Late last year, Moana revealed that her mother and sister both tested positive for Covid, describing her family’s harrowing experience with the virus.

In a post on Instagram, the retired Australian rules footballer described it as “the most stressful two weeks of my life.”

Both my mother and Vinny got Covid. We honestly weren’t sure how my mother was going to do with all her ongoing health problems and because she was classified as high risk,” she began.

“And Vinny, we weren’t sure how her immune system would hold up either and she just didn’t understand what was really going on with her or… [be] can articulate her symptoms well.’

“Both were very sick and we had some scary moments but both were so damn resilient and they’re fine and survived,” she added.
