A Sydney man has filmed the shocking moment a junior police officer gave him the middle finger and told him to “f*** off”.

The junior officer, his female colleague and a supervising officer had been attempting to serve a notice on the man.

However, the situation worsened when the man refused to provide his identification.

“We have already told you our names and where we are from,” the officer said. “Now it is your duty to tell us your name and where you are from.”

The man replied: “Is it my duty? I’m not a police officer.”

The supervising sergeant intervened, explaining that officers could not hand over the documents if the man refused to identify himself.

However, the junior officer was not so willing to let it go.

“That’s quite rude, sir,” the young police officer told the man as his colleagues turned to leave.

The officer (pictured) said it was “rude” for the owner not to identify himself to police.

“Hey, fuck you. You gave me the finger. Fuck you,” the cop said.

The furious officer retaliated by giving the man the middle finger.

“Good boy, that’s professional,” the man replies before telling the officer he was being recorded by at least three cameras on his property.

He asks his sergeant’s name before the video abruptly ends.

Australians were quick to share their thoughts on the interaction.

“My goodness. What is the world coming to? At least the top cop had some brains,” one woman wrote on X.

“I sincerely hope this unprofessional policeman was just an isolated case,” said a second.

A third wrote: “Oh Mr Attitude! You can’t even follow orders from a superior officer… You’ll do well in the force.”

It is not known when the video was filmed. New South Wales Police have been contacted for comment.
