This is the astonishing moment a leopard was spotted in South Africa’s Kruger National Park.

Known for their agility and great strength, leopards can easily climb steep slopes thanks to these defining characteristics.

They are also experts at blending effortlessly into their surroundings thanks to their notoriously camouflage-friendly fur.

Henri Olckers, 36, from South Africa, was visiting the world-famous national park when he spotted the ‘hidden leopard’.

Mr Olckers, who has been photographing wildlife since 2013, hasn’t had much luck, but that all changed while he was driving down a path in Kruger National Park.

Can you spot the leopard in these photos?

Henri was remarkably able to capture an image of the leopard, which had managed to camouflage itself among the tall grass, making it extremely difficult for other visitors to the park to spot.

Henri said: “Other cars arrived at the time of the sighting and I realized how difficult the leopard was to spot as it took some effort to explain to other visitors where it was.

“We spent about 15 minutes with the leopard, and he seemed very relaxed and didn’t seem like he wanted to go anywhere anytime soon.

This is not the first time that Henri has managed to capture a snow leopard in the wild, an animal that he says he particularly enjoys photographing.

He added: “I have a few other photos of camouflaged leopard sightings that I have taken over the years. It’s always fun to see if people can spot them in photos.

“The feeling and excitement I get when I spot an elusive animal like a leopard, lion, cheetah or African wild dog; or when I’m on the right road, at the right time, it’s something I can’t explain.

“I always joke and say if I could bottle that feeling and sell it, I would be a millionaire.

“Some days in Kruger you find three or four leopards. Other times it takes a week to get a glimpse.
