An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 struck Chamba town in Himachal Pradesh this evening. Severe tremors were felt across the city and also in Manali, about 100 km from Chamba. No major damage has been reported so far.
The earthquake struck Chamba at 9:34 p.m., at a depth of 10 km, the National Center of Seismology said.

“I felt quite strong tremors in Manali. It lasted for about seven seconds,” said Divyanshu, a resident of Manali.
“I felt a strong jolt that lasted for a few seconds. Just when I was thinking of running downstairs, the tremors stopped,” Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Chandigarh, told PTI.
