Young Star Sheldon Raegan Revord, 15, reveals suffering from PTSD and panic attacks after a car accident with a drunk driver while on his way to the set: ‘It was very challenging for me’
Young Sheldon star Raegan Rayford has detailed her road to recovery after she was involved in a car accident with a drunk driver while on her way to the venue.
The 15-year-old actress recently took to Instagram to announce the revelation while explaining that she suffered from PTSD and had panic attacks after the scary incident.
In the post, Revord shared a series of shots from the set including her sitting in the passenger seat of a police van as the gallery ends with her mom’s Tesla showing that the airbags had deployed after the crash.
“Tonight’s episode was very difficult for me to shoot in person,” she explained in the caption.
On the way to work, my mother and I were accosted by a driver who was driving under the influence of drugs. The irony here is that I’m pretty much in a car for this entire episode, but you know what they say, “You gotta get back in the saddle.” This is not to say that it was not difficult.

Revord went on to talk about the toll the event took on her mental health while also revealing that the cast and crew helped her a lot along the way.
She wrote, ‘I suffered from full blown panic attacks and PTSD for weeks after the accident and the only way I could get through it was because of the most loving and supportive cast and crew.
They checked in with me the whole way through and never made me feel like finishing filming was a priority, that my happiness came first. With that said, I hope you enjoyed tonight’s episode.
“When I read the script, I remember being so excited to be shooting it and even more excited to be shooting it with my boyfriend (who was instrumental in getting me through some of those tough times – I love you Kenny) (red heart emoji)”
Revord portrays Melissa ‘Missy’ Cooper on the CBS sitcom and is the younger twin sister of titular character Sheldon Lee Cooper (Iain Armitage).
Macy is not as smart as Sheldon but is very perceptive and considers him a confidant despite not always getting along.
Young Sheldon is the spin-off of the popular CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory where Courtney Hengler played the adult version of the character Revord.
She began her career in 2015 starring in the short films Tortoise and Jia and also starred in one episode of the TV series W/Bob And David.
Revord got the gig on Young Sheldon which began airing in 2017 and has starred in all six seasons.
