- Hulk Hogan is a wrestling legend, but he’s not popular with fans these days
- The 71-year-old wanted to promote his beer, which partners with WWE
- WWE normally brings Hogan back on special occasions
Hulk Hogan is indeed a WWE legend, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be a fan favorite in 2025.
During WWE’s debut on Netflix, Hogan appeared on RAW in front of more than 17,000 fans in Los Angeles, mainly to promote his drink ‘Real American Beer’.
WWE announced a multi-year partnership with Hogan’s Beer the day before RAW and the logo was plastered on the ring mat during the show.
When Hogan came out to address the crowd, it didn’t take long for them to let him know exactly how they felt.
The Hulkster, now 71, tried to tell the WWE crowd that they were the best tag team partner he ever had. Their response was to chase him out of the building.
The former twelve-time world champion was clearly surprised by the reaction and stuttered over his words for a moment before finishing his rehearsed promo.
In the 1980s, Hogan was the driving force behind WWE’s rise from a regional promotion around New York to an international brand.
He is undoubtedly one of the most popular and successful babyfaces of all time and the catalyst of what made WrestleMania so successful, main eventing eight of the first nine events.
Hulk Hogan obviously expected cheers, but that wasn’t an option in Los Angeles
But in recent years, its beloved status is long gone.
Hogan was kicked out of WWE after a tape surfaced of him making racist comments, many of which included the n-word.
He was banned from WWE for three years before being welcomed back into the Hall of Fame in 2018, but many WWE superstars were not happy with his ‘apology’ when he was brought back.
It was said that Hogan talked about being careful about what you say around a camera, rather than the content of what he said.
More recently, Hogan became a celebrity sponsor of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in the United States, which he later won.
Himmy Hart waving the American flag didn’t help calm the boos
WWE is making more money than ever and has a stacked roster by the standards of any era. There’s no need for a Hogan appearance, although you can see why WWE might have thought it was a good idea given the historic nature of the show and how it ties into that.
Many fans groaned at the idea of Hogan making an appearance and things only got worse with the content of his promo. You have to think both Hogan and WWE will get the hint.
