The ex-wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau opened up about the couple’s shocking split in a candid interview and revealed what she plans to do next.
In her latest book, written before their split, Sophie Trudeau, 48, opened up about her battle with an eating disorder and shared personal anecdotes from her “imperfect” marriage to Justin.

Speaking about her split from Justin, she said The times: ‘We don’t have to dramatize, end abruptly, break relationships to restructure our lives and our minds.
‘And something changed, yes, something broke; “I’m not sure what I mean,” she added, insisting that she and Justin remain close as a family despite the split.
She declined to comment on her relationship with the Ottawa pediatric surgeon with whom she appeared to fall in love before their split was announced.

‘We’re all still together: we love each other, we spend time together. It’s organic, you know, that the kids all sleep together one night, it’s fine.
‘And I have a little space to myself and sometimes the kids come there, and we’re so close to each other that we do it organically. And it feels good, it feels natural. It doesn’t feel forced. It’s comforting,” he told the Times.
Reports suggested that when the Justins’ decision to separate was announced to the world, Sophie had already begun a relationship with Ottawa-based pediatric surgeon Dr. Marcos Bettolli.
But in the latest interview, she did not address the rumors and added that there are no secrets between her and Justin.
‘You know, in a way it’s boring for some people because we’ve always been honest with each other. We don’t keep secrets. That’s not the dynamic we have.
‘And let me be honest: in some ways I’m very proud of how we, not how the world thinks of us, how we navigate this. When we’re together and we look at each other, that’s what counts.’
“Although we are no longer a couple, I know that our shared sense of humor will always help us weather the storms.”
But she didn’t hesitate to open up about some deeply personal experiences in her new book Closer Together: Knowing Ourselves Loving Each Other, which gives readers a glimpse into her 18-year marriage to Justin.
For example, Sophie shared an “attachment styles” form she filled out before the separation.
She checked the box by saying that she “often worries” that her partner will stop loving her and that she is “afraid” that her partner will become interested in someone else.
He also admitted that he would “get attached very quickly to a romantic partner” and expressed his hope that his partner would show “a little bit of jealousy” after a breakup.

In a divorce petition filed on April 26, 2023, Dr. Bettolli’s ex-wife, Ana Remonda, claimed that he had “re-associated with a high-profile individual who attracts significant media attention and presents significant considerations.” of security”.
