A woman was found dead inside a car parked on a busy south Sydney street, with her purse thrown on top of the car.

Emergency services were called to Durham Street in Hurstville, about 16 kilometers south of Sydney’s CBD at 5.15pm on Tuesday following reports of concern for welfare.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found dead in the passenger seat inside the car.

Police are treating his death as suspicious and have established a crime scene at the location.

Authorities have not yet released the woman’s identity or any additional details.
