Footy WAG Tayla Damir has opened up about the challenges of living away from her family in Melbourne after revealing plans to return to her hometown in Western Australia.
The former Love Island Australia star, 27, admitted on Monday that she “hates” not having her family in the Victorian city, where she currently lives with husband Nathan Broad and daughter Samara.
During a Q&A on Instagram, a fan asked: ‘Does it bother you not having your mother around Samara 24/7?’
‘Yes, I hate it. “It’s annoying not having family in Melbourne, but it is what it is,” Tayla responded.
“We consider ourselves lucky that they can come visit us frequently.”

Tayla’s confession comes after she recently revealed the reason she and Nathan are returning to Western Australia.
She announced in October that she and her AFL star husband, 30, will build a new home in Perth for their family.

A fan asked him: ‘Will you ever come back to WA?’ to which Tayla simply replied: “Yes,” alongside a photo from a luxury building overlooking the Perth cityscape.
Regarding his building plans, another fan asked: “Why are you building a house in WA when Nathan plays for Richmond?”
Tayla, who recently welcomed her first child with Nathan, responded: “He won’t play football forever.”
“It’s annoying to have absolutely no family in Melbourne, but it is what it is,” Tayla revealed to fans during an Instagram Q&A.
Late last year, Tayla announced that she and Nathan had started work on a new home in Perth for their growing family.
‘Sharing the process of our construction in Perth. “Excited is an understatement,” she captioned alongside a recent image of an interior.
Tayla and Nathan, who tied the knot in October 2022, welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Samara, in August.
