Why MAGA Swift’s followers are convinced Taylor is a secret Trump fan

Taylor Swift’s ardent fans have been left divided after the pop star was photographed hugging Donald Trump supporter and close friend Brittany Mahomes at the US Open.

Swift, who famously supported President Joe Biden in the 2020 election, has yet to declare who she is backing this year: Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Trump, 78.

The 34-year-old singer has publicly condemned Trump in the past, leaving many wondering if she would distance herself from Mahomes, whom the Republican presidential candidate recently praised for his apparent support.

However, the best friends put any rumours of a feud to rest when they were spotted cuddling alongside their partners at the US Open final.

Since then, many Democratic Swifties have wondered whether their idolized star is now a Trump supporter, and some MAGA fans already believe so.

Amber, a MAGA TikToker, recently took to the video-sharing app to share her joy over Mahomes’ recent endorsement.

The influencer wrote: ‘MAGA SWIFTIES STOKED MAHOMES CLAPPED BACK’ while singing an edited version of Swift’s song ’22’, referring to when the football star’s wife reposted a comment from preacher Shane Pruitt that appeared to be a response to the backlash against him.

“Contrary to the tone of the world today…,” the message began. “You can disagree with someone and still love them. You can have different opinions and still be kind.”

Amber also captioned the video: “I love that Taylor is surrounded by MAGA Swifties and MAGA supporters! Remember we don’t know your political views on this election.”

Another MAGA Swiftie, who is a Palm Beach real estate agent but uses the username Conservaswifties on TikTok, also took to the platform to amplify Mahomes’ message of being friends with people with different political views.

“I wonder what all those Taylor fans think who said she would hate her fans for voting for Trump, but the friendship between Taylor and Brittany Mahomes is strong even though Brittany is conservative and supports Trump,” she said. “I wish I could see their faces.”

But while many MAGA Swifties are rejoicing that the pop star remains friends with Mahomes (despite famously claiming she wanted to be on the “right side of history” in her documentary, Miss Americana), her Democratic Party supporters have been left aghast.

‘Not one word about Palestine. Not one word about Trump using your face to promote him. Not one word about the LGBTQ+ laws of the past few years, or anything going on in your home state. Best friends with a South Africa apologist and a Trump supporter,’ wrote one X user.

While another added: ‘Old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now… why?… oh because she’s dating Brittany Mahomes.’

“You’re an activist until you value your boyfriend’s coworker’s wife over the rights of your fans, apparently,” one also chimed in.

Several fans have shared their belief that Joe Alwyn, Swift’s previous boyfriend, was the reason she supported the Democrat.

The outrage comes days after Swift responded to Trump’s apparent acceptance of her “support” in his race for the White House, with insiders claiming she believes the Republican has “lost it.”

The presidential candidate shared AI-generated posts on his social media platform Truth Social, suggesting he has garnered support from the Grammy winner and her fans.

Trump wrote “I do” alongside deepfake images showing women wearing “Swifties For Trump” T-shirts, as well as a poster of the singer dressed as Uncle Sam urging her fans to vote for the Republican candidate.

Although she has yet to publicly endorse any candidate ahead of this year’s election, a source close to Swift confirmed, unsurprisingly, that she will not be backing Trump.

“If he didn’t support him last time, he’s not going to support him now,” they told DailyMail.com exclusively. “He’s clearly lost control. In more ways than one.”
