Two people allegedly broke into the home of Chaithanya “Swetha” Madhagani just days after her body was found in a wheelie bin on a remote road in Victoria.
The 35-year-old’s body was found in a green bin on Mount Pollock Road in Buckley, west of Geelong, at midday on Saturday March 9.
Homicide Squad detectives said they wanted to speak to her husband, Ashok Raj Varikuppala, who is believed to have fled to India with their three-year-old son Arya.
Daily Mail Australia understands that on March 13, four days after her body was found, two people allegedly burglarized Ms Madhagani’s Point Cook home and stole a car.
“Detectives from the Melton Criminal Investigation Unit have arrested two people as part of their investigation into a burglary at a property in Point Cook,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

“The suspected offenders attended a property on Mirka Way at around 10.30am on March 13 and a vehicle was removed from the address.”
Police then arrested a man and woman at a property on Kiely Avenue in Werribee around 1pm on March 13 and found a vehicle taken from the Point Cook address.
A 32-year-old Werribee man has been charged with burglary and motor vehicle theft and has been remanded in custody to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on April 5.
A 32-year-old Werribee woman has been released pending further investigation and the investigation continues.
“At this time police do not believe the burglary is linked to the current Homicide Squad investigation relating to this property.
“As this investigation is still ongoing, we are unable to comment further on this matter,” the spokesperson said.
Last week, an Indian police spokesman said Mr Varikuppala had visited his wife’s parents in Hyderabad and left his son there.
“After that he left. No member of the family has filed a complaint against anyone yet,” said inspector Veera Swamy of Kushaiguda police.
“We will assist with investigations if anyone approaches us. At the moment we do not know his whereabouts as we are not investigating this matter without any complaints.
There is no suggestion of wrongdoing on Mr. Varikuppala’s part.
Victoria Police said it was limited in what it could say about the investigation.

“Due to the seriousness of the matter, we unfortunately cannot comment on many matters as we do not want to compromise the ongoing investigation,” he said.
“This includes information about any ongoing investigations or any liaisons with other agencies here in Australia or overseas, or any liaisons with the victim’s family.”
There will be a candlelight vigil in Point Cook on Friday evening for Ms Madhagani, known to her close friends as “Swetha”.
“All are invited to join us in remembering her,” one invitation reads.
Police tape remains at the scene along Mount Pollock Road, Buckley, west of Geelong, where the body of mother Chaithanya Swetha Madhagani was discovered in a bin.
