Westfield Bondi Junction announces reopening date after six people die in horrific rampage

Westfield Bondi Junction will reopen to the public on Thursday, almost a week after six people were stabbed to death.

The busy shopping center in Sydney’s east will reopen its doors for a day of community reflection, where the public is invited to walk around the complex and pay their respects to the five women and the Westfield security guard who lost their lives in the Saturday’s deadly attack.

Retailers will remain closed for business on Thursday.

Most businesses will reopen on Friday, although some have chosen to remain closed for a few more days.

Counseling services will be available for anyone struggling to come to terms with this devastating tragedy.

“We have been very thoughtful in our plans to reopen the center in a manner that is respectful of the victims, their families and all members of the community who are grieving.” Scentre Group CEO Elliott Rusanow told reporters.
