War Machine (seen on the left in a recent photograph with his wife in prison, Ashley Farrington and sentenced in law in 2017) regretted having been about to kill his ex-girlfriend Christy Mack and was now a different person

In an interview with filmmaker John Bravo on Wednesday, Machine, who has since married a pen pal from the prison, said he "hated" him. who he used to be and asked his ex for forgiveness.

I hate who he used to be.

"There is not a day that passes that I do not regret and I hate it".

"Nobody hates me as much as I hate the man I used to be.

"From the bottom of my heart I apologize to Christy, I'm sorry, Christy, I'm sorry for what happened," he said.

For Thomas, who left Christy to be beaten and brutalized by the professional fighter to save himself, he said: "Corey, you know, you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, I pray for you too, I pray for all of you."

He added that while he used to blame his ex-girlfriend for his unfathomable violence, he realizes now that he led her to deceive him with his "constant" mistreatment.

& # 39; At the beginning, before finding God, it was all his fault.

Once I found God, my eyes opened.

The terrible injuries of Mack are shown, weeks after his recovery. Police said it looked like she had had a car accident when they found her after she ran away from home and went to a neighbor to call 911.

& # 39; I had to look at that night with the truth of Jesus' eyes. I put that man in my bed with my constant traps, constant abuse, constant carelessness. I put that guy in my bed.

I created that situation. I was a great hypocrite and ended up hurting someone I love, "he said.

Machine made a passionate plea to his remaining admirers not to idolize his behavior and instead try to find God themselves.

"I really appreciate all the love and support, but I just hope none of you admires the old me.

"It kills me on the inside that they're still in love with the guy he was, with that alpha male s ** t, all the anarchy, all the BS he used to live.

& # 39; I do not want you to like it. I want them to realize that what was was false and worthless.

& # 39; I want you to learn about the person I am now and avoid my mistakes. I hope you do not idolize too much the person you were.

& # 39; See Jesus, he is real. He will change your life, I promise, "he said.

Machine does not credit the prison for changing his life, explaining that he had been in and out of jail before he almost killed Mack with his beating.

I've been in jail 2 or 3 times before. Every time before it got worse. I became more hateful, empty, worsened more and more. There's nothing here, "he said.

He found God through a pen pal who implacably preached his faith in letters and sent him religious books.

It was religion that united him to his wife Ashley Harrington, a family mother who started writing to him when he was in jail.

He gave it to God and the couple has an "incredible" relationship, he said.

Machine's apology is not the first. After his conviction in 2017, he posted a long Twitter statement that said: "Christy, I'm sorry for the man I was, I'm sorry I hurt you."

"One day, when enough time has passed, and when your wounds are completely healed, I hope you write to me or, even, that you visit me, so I can fully apologize."

Mack testified at his trial hoping to keep him in jail for the rest of his life.

She told the judge that she feared he would kill her if she were ever allowed to leave custody.

Mack and Thomas were together in bed when Machine, who legally changed his name to that to boost his career, came home unexpectedly.

First he attacked Thomas, strangled him and bit him in the bathroom.

When he released his grip, Thomas fled, leaving Mack alone in the house with him.

He hit Mack for ten minutes, hit his teeth and made him come in and out of consciousness.

In a moment, he stood in front of her and said: "That's it. I have to kill you now.

She could only escape when she disappeared from her room to, she believes, retrieve a kitchen knife to stab her.

She ran, naked and bleeding, to a neighbor's house and called the police.

During the trial, Machines' emotional demonstrations ranged from remorse to grossly indifferent.

He laughed when Mack testified against him in a moment, but pronounced "I love you" during another hearing.
