VfB star to Eintracht Frankfurt could be “really hot”.

Date:

Eintracht Frankfurt could add central defender Konstantinos Mavropanos from VfB Stuttgart for the coming season.

“I could imagine it getting really hot,” said transfer expert Florian Plettenberg from “Sky” about the situation surrounding the 25-year-old Greek.

Mavropanos, who is still one of the more consistent players in the Swabians who are threatened with relegation, has been traded at Eintracht Frankfurt for a long time.

The sticking point, however, could be the requested transfer fee: According to “Bild”, VfB rejected a 15 million euro offer from Inter Milan for Mavropanos in the winter. Atlético Madrid is also said to have been interested in the 1.94 meter giant, but ultimately could not submit a concrete offer in Stuttgart for economic reasons.

Mavropanos should at least not be much cheaper in summer – quite the opposite. Apparently, VfB is even promising up to 20 million euros for a transfer of the top performer – a sum that SBU would probably not be able to cope with.

Is Eintracht Frankfurt hoping for VfB Stuttgart to be relegated?

In order to bag a Mavropanos deal, the Hessians should now hope for VfB’s relegation. In this case, his contract, which runs until 2025, does not contain an explicit exit clause. However, the transfer fee could drop if the Stuttgarters do not succeed in staying up, it was said recently.

According to “Sport Bild”, in addition to Mavropanos, Dennis Geiger and Christoph Baumgartner (both 1899 Hoffenheim) are also on the Frankfurt wish list. The commitment of Omar Marmoush (VfL Wolfsburg) should be almost perfect.

It has become quiet around Houssem Aouar (Olympique Lyon). The 24-year-old midfielder has long been considered a safe newcomer to Eintracht. “Sport1” recently reported on a “strange game” by his advisors.
