Famed vegan activist Tash Peterson has candidly admitted she enjoyed the taste of meat when she was younger in a shocking interview that has divided viewers.

Ms Peterson, 30, revealed she liked to eat “some animal flesh” while speaking to a group of high school students on the streets of Perth last week.

During the filmed interview that was later uploaded to TikTok, she said she grew up thinking it was “normal” to eat meat because that’s what everyone else did after the girls urged her to tell the truth.

“Like you, I grew up eating animals thinking it was normal and necessary to do so,” Ms. Peterson told the students.

“I don’t think there is any justification for mistreating and killing animals.”

Ms. Peterson was shocked when students asked her why she didn’t know animals were sacrificed before she became vegan seven years ago.

“Of course I knew that animals were sent to slaughterhouses for people to eat,” he replied.

The clip ends with one of the students telling her that the meat tasted good but that he respected Ms. Peterson’s decision.

The clip, which has been viewed more than 100,000 times, was filled with hundreds of comments.

Many viewers accused Ms. Peterson of interviewing the teenagers just to prove her point.

“You’re taking your protest to children knowing full well that they can’t properly fight your argument. Interview adults and other vegans, then maybe the debate will be fair,” one commented.

Another added: ‘Why do they only interview children?

Others praised the students for taking Ms. Peterson by surprise with their questions.

“Well said, miss… you left her baffled,” one person wrote.

Some chimed in, telling Ms. Peterson to respect the lifestyle choices others make.

The video was filmed before the firebrand activist and her partner Jack Higgs were evicted from Crown Towers in Perth. hours after the couple checked into their room last weekend.

The couple were escorted out of the five-star hotel after being told she had been permanently banned from the premises.

Ms Peterson filmed the dramatic moment they were escorted out of the building by security guards before the clip was shared on TikTok.

She claimed in the video that a security guard told her the ban had been in effect since September 2021.

Ms. Peterson is no stranger to controversy.

Earlier this month, she He was banned from leaving Western Australia for six months, due to a court order issued by a magistrate at the Joondalup Magistrates Court in July.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of trespassing and disorderly conduct over two separate confrontations at the Fyre restaurant in the northern Perth suburb of Connolly.

In addition to the charges, he was also fined thousands of dollars.

The first incident occurred when Ms. Peterson and her supporters stormed the restaurant on June 30, 2023 before being physically removed by restaurant staff.

He returned the following Saturday where he played images of animals being slaughtered and the sound of pigs squealing.

Her previous antics led Western Australian police and policymakers to describe her as “Australia’s biggest pest”.

Ms Peterson has received numerous fines for her semi-nude demonstrations and protests at designer stores, restaurants and supermarkets.
