Urgent Amber Alert issued after an eight-year-old girl was ‘abducted’ on the Sunshine Coast

Police issued an Amber Alert after an eight-year-old girl (pictured) was abducted on the Sunshine Coast on Friday morning.

Queensland Police have launched an urgent Amber Alert to locate an eight-year-old girl who was abducted on the Sunshine Coast and may be at significant risk.

A man, known to the girl, was seen taking the girl from Beach Road in Maroochydore and putting her in a car before driving off at around 10.45am on Thursday.

The girl is described as having sandy blonde hair and wearing black and white checkered shorts, a navy blue shirt and white sandals.

Queensland Police described the man as being in his 40s, Caucasian, with a shaved head, thin build and wearing a dark shirt, black flip-flops and shorts.

The vehicle is described as a dark blue Toyota Hilux with silver tray and Queensland registration number 156VBO.

They are believed to be in the Sunshine Coast area, including Noosa.
