Aaron Carter’s twin sister Angel Carter and her producer Aaron Pearce released the singer’s posthumous song Recovery on Friday, 18 months after his tragic death at age 34.
Recovery, will appear on an upcoming album titled The Recovery Album, which will include several songs recorded more than a decade ago, according to Rolling Stone.
Angel recently appeared on CBS Mornings and claimed that Carter’s followers were excited at the prospect of the publication of his unearthed prints.
Angel stated: ‘Fans were coming up to Aaron Pearce and me, begging us to release this music. So today we are here.’
Carter’s sister went on to comment that the song had been played during a public memorial for her late brother.

“Fans have been asking for the music, and after Aaron’s death we organized a benefit concert in his honor called The Songs for Tomorrow Concert, and we played Recovery during this show,” he recalled.
Angel also expressed that he wanted to use his late brother’s platform to help other people going through battles with substance abuse.
“I’d like to turn this ship around and really start helping other people and learning from our history,” he said.
Recovery’s lyrics also reference the late singer’s turbulent past and his struggle with substance abuse.
A percentage of the proceeds from Recovery and The Recovery Album, which debuts on May 24, will go to On Our Sleeves, a mental health nonprofit.
Another portion of the proceeds from both projects will also go into a trust for the late singer’s son, Prince Lyric Carter.
The performer died at the age of 34 at his home in Lancaster, California, on November 5, 2022.

An autopsy found that both alprazolam, sold under the name Xanax, and the compressed gas difluoroethane were found in Carter’s system.
Investigators found numerous prescription medication bottles and electronic duster cans at the scene of the artist’s death.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office later revealed that the composer had drowned in his bathtub and ruled the incident accidental, according to Deadline.
An album of Carter’s work, titled Blacklisted, was released two days after his death, although it was later removed from streaming services.
