UFO sightings over Brazil, Argentina and Chile leave experts baffled

Videos filmed by residents in Argentina, Chile and Brazil show UFOs. This particular video was taken in Chile on May 6th.

The camera has captured strange glowing ‘bars’ in the skies over several South American countries over the last month, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The long white and blue objects appeared to float slowly in the sky in videos filmed by residents of Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

A striking example was filmed on April 29 by UFO researcher and Petrobras engineer Rony Vernet with cameras he installed to monitor the southeastern night sky near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

An apparently cylindrical object slides into the frame at 5:01 am, heading northeast and gradually disappears from view for about 80 seconds.

On May 6, a witness in Argentina filming with his phone captured a similar-looking white object moving slowly in the sky above his house.

The same day, at 7:14 p.m. in Viña del Mar, Chile, a third witness recorded another incident on video, although this time the cylinder appeared blue.

Another video obtained by Vernet came from a Chilean witness in Luján de Cuyo that same night.

On May 8, residents of a Brazilian town near the border with Uruguay filmed one that appeared to change color from white to blue and yellow.

Vernet shared videos he collected from four witnesses in Brazil on May 9, showing similar objects.

But experts do not know if it is UFOs or the Starlink satellite constellation.

Often, a string of lights as bright as stars, moving slowly across the sky, will be mistaken for a real UFO when it is actually Starlink, the network of satellites launched by Elon Musk’s SpaceX company.

But typically those lights will appear as distinct dots on a line, rather than a solid cylinder, and won’t appear to change color.

Chris Spitzer, an expert in UFO analysis, told DailyMail.com that although Starlink usually appears as a trail of distinct points in the sky once it is fully deployed, during its ascent it can appear as a continuous line because the satellites are grouped nearby. together.

“Starlink satellites may look like oblong objects immediately after deployment when they reach Earth orbit because they are stacked together,” he said.

Spitzer shared a likely example: a stunning photograph taken by a Fedex pilot of a meteor burning up in the atmosphere, with a white spot underneath that resembles the objects captured by Vernet and the other witnesses he gathered.

The bright white nature of the objects could simply be reflected sunlight, Spitzer explained.

«Starlink satellites also generate UFO sightings immediately after their deployment, when they reflect sunlight. They are released in a batch with two clamps parallel to each other where they are stacked. This could explain some recent sightings,” he stated.

On May 6, the same day as the Argentina and Chile sightings, a Starlink satellite was launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 6:14 p.m. local time.

On May 8 at 6:42 p.m. another was launched from the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida, the same day as the sighting on the border with Uruguay.

There was no Starlink launch on April 29 when Vernet captured its video, but there was a launch from Cape Canaveral at 9:50 pm the night before.

“One video is from one of my cameras in a hot spot here in Rio,” Vernet told DailyMail.com. ‘In May these large glow sticks began to appear in Argentina, Uruguay and southern Brazil. I have a lot of videos that people sent me.

“The only explanation for me would be Starlink, but at the time of the sighting there was no satellite train visible.”

Vernet, who works as an electronic and computer engineer at the Brazilian oil company Petrobras, is a prominent UFO researcher in Brazil and founder of UAPBrazil.com.
