Two of Souths’ famous Burgess brothers were allegedly involved in an exchange of fights during South Sydney’s match against the Warriors at Accor Stadium on Saturday.
Footy reporter Danny Weidler said older brother Luke and retired NRL star George were invited to Hollywood superstar Russell Crowe’s private box to watch the round five match.
However, the brothers reportedly showed up with three friends who were not on the guest list.
“There was a bit of a dispute,” Weidler said on the Nine show. 100% football.

“They reprimanded them and told them they could shell out another $800 to have them there.
“The people they brought were actually involved in Ramadan, they said they weren’t eating or drinking, they were just there.”
So far, there has been no response to Weilder’s claims from the Burgess brothers or The Rabbitohs, but the journalist suggests fans could hear more about this in the coming days.
Luke Burgess first made a name for himself in the UK with the Leeds Rhinos in the English Super League, winning a title in 2009.
He then moved to Australia ahead of the 2011 NRL season, signing a contract along with his three brothers, Sam and twins, George and Tom, at the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
George Burgess played 149 games for South Sydney, winning premiership with the Rabbitohs in 2014 alongside his brothers Sam and Tom, as well as 15 England caps.
He won a premiership with Cairns Brothers in 2023 before ending his football career.
Tom Burgess, George’s twin brother, is currently playing in his final season with the Rabbitohs.
All four Burgess brothers took the field in the same game for the Rabbitohs in 2013.

He played in the 2014 grand final for Souths alongside his brothers Sam and George and plans to finish his career in the UK with Huddersfield Giants in 2025.

Burgess continued to coach at the Bunnies but left the club under a dark cloud last year amid an alleged dispute over the alleged favorable treatment of star players Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker.
The football great landed his first top-flight coaching job during the off-season, with Super League side Warrington Wolves, and has found instant success.
