Trump makes stunning admission about abortion and women voters: ‘It’s all nonsense’

Donald Trump is responding that he’s deep in the water when it comes to female voters, calling it “nonsense” as Kamala Harris leads him with women by double digits.

The former president was asked about supporting women on Fox & Friends on Friday morning, but rejected the idea that he needs to do better.

“I think I do very well with women and I think this is all nonsense,” Trump said in response to a question from host Brian Kilmeade.

“I see the polls and we are doing well,” the 78-year-old candidate insisted.

That’s when the former president brought up abortion, which has been a major issue among women voters since the Supreme Court in 2022 overturned Roe v Wade, ending federal protections against abortion.

“There is a problem: abortion,” Trump said. ‘Without abortion, women love me.’

Former President Donald Trump claimed it’s “silly” that he doesn’t do well with women and said that “without abortion, women love me” during an appearance on Fox & Friends on Friday.

Trump then claimed that women “like me anyway” because what he’s done is “so good.”

“I’ve taken this issue out of the federal government and given it back to the states where they vote,” the Republican presidential candidate boasted.

He reiterated that he believes in exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother. But not all states that have banned abortion since Roe was overturned have such exceptions.

Trump said the issue has torn the country apart for more than fifty years and repeated his false claim that no one wanted him in the federal government.

He then went on to praise the six “very brave justices” who overturned Roe with the Dobbs decision. Trump appointed three of those six judges as presidents.

Kilmeade attempted to interrupt Trump as he rambled, but the former president insisted that the country is coming together now and “going to vote.”

A new Emerson College poll released Friday showed Harris leading Trump nationally by one point, 49 percent to 48 percent.

But when it comes to women voters, Harris holds a double-digit lead, 55 percent to 41 percent. It also found that abortion remains a top issue for voters.

Talking about abortion rights has been one of Harris’s strongest lines of attack against Trump during the election campaign.

In a blistering critique Thursday in Wisconsin, Harris slammed the former president, declaring that “no Donald, everyone didn’t want Roe v Wade overturned.”

But as Trump struggles with female voters, he appears reluctant to get help from those who could perhaps give him a boost with the key voting bloc.

Kilmeade asked Trump about his former Republican presidential opponent, Nikki Haley, who came out on the campaign trail for him down the stretch. Kilmeade suggested it could help shore up some Republican voters.

‘In the last 18 days, would you call her and say ‘come with me’?’ Kilmeade asked.

Trump said he would do what he has to do.

But then he talked about how badly he beat his former ambassador to the United Nations in the primaries, even though she publicly endorsed him since dropping out of the race.

“Nikki Haley and I fought and I beat her by 50, 60, 90 points,” Trump said. “I beat her in her own state in numbers that no one has ever beaten.”

Kilmeade tried to interrupt the former president, but he wasn’t done ranting about the primary results and people who kept mentioning ‘Nikki.’

At one point, Trump insisted that “Nikki is in” and that she is “already helping them.”

While Haley endorsed Trump and spoke at the convention in July, she has not held any specific campaign events for him, although there are reports that she is in talks with the campaign.

Finally, Trump changed the subject by pointing out that Elon Musk is campaigning for him and went on a tangent about watching a rocket land.

Despite the hosts’ prompting, Trump made no overtures to Haley’s disappointed primary voters during the interview.

Democrats, meanwhile, have been campaigning to win support from some Republicans, like Haley voters, who are unconvinced of another Trump term.
