A woman armed with a knife threatened to harm her co-workers and herself while running amok on the third floor of the historic Fox Studio lot in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles police officials told DailyMail.com that the woman, possibly in her 30s, “became aggressive” when security guards approached her around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Dispatchers said the unidentified woman was initially seen outside the Fox Studio complex in the 10200 block of West Pico in the Century City area.
She was “running through traffic, jumping in front of vehicles” before entering the Fox building, according to LAPD dispatchers.
Los Angeles police officials confirmed to DailyMail.com that the woman was brandishing a knife inside the Fox Studio parking lot on Wednesday morning.
The woman was seen weaving in and out of traffic before entering the building, which is normally heavily secured.
LAPD officials told DailyMail.com that the suspect was a Fox employee, but sources with close knowledge of the situation said the woman only worked at the lot and is not a Fox employee.
The woman brandished the knife at guards once inside the building and threatened other employees.
He then locked himself in a third-floor room and threatened to harm himself, according to local channel Fox 11 News.

Fox Studios employees were asked to stay away from the area during the incident.
The woman eventually put down the knife and was detained by officers, Los Angeles police spokesman David Cuellar told DailyMail.com.
Known as ‘Movietone City,’ the Fox lot was the first complex built specifically for film production.
The large lot also houses executive and production offices.
The knife was collected by the police.
No injuries were reported and the woman was transported to a nearby LAPD station, Cuellar said.

Several hit movies and TV shows were filmed on this historic lot, including Modern Family, Speechless and ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Classic films such as Planet of the Apes and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes were filmed on the site, as well as cult classics such as Alien Resurrection and the Die Hard series.
Large-scale film productions such as the Die Hard series, Planet of the Apes and War of the Worlds were filmed on the Fox lot.
