The Colorado star’s fiancée, Travis Hunter, has emphasized that the couple’s viral on-field dispute over the weekend was never actually a major issue.
A video of Hunter fighting with teammate Leanna Lenee after the Buffaloes’ blowout victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday caused quite a stir on social media, with fans speculating about what caused their apparent dispute.
Hunter could be seen reaching for a kiss and Lenee, who seemed unhappy with her man, had an agitated expression on her face. The two then exchanged words that seemed unpleasant.
However, in an Instagram post a few days later, the Colorado WAG clarified what really happened that night.
‘By the way, these photographs were taken 30 seconds after that clip. Please remember that social media is not real and 5 seconds is not enough to understand a situation,” Lenee captioned a different image of her and Hunter looking much happier at Folsom Field.
‘You also never know what a person can endure mentally. Thank you darling for always trying to cheer me up. You really are the best partner a girl could ask for.
Travis Hunter and Leana Lenee are scheduled to get married next May, one month after the NFL Draft.
Lenee has explained that there was never a problem between her and Hunter at Saturday’s game.
In those photos, Lenee was wearing all black to match Colorado’s uniforms from Saturday.
And on the back of his jacket was the message ‘HE12MAN,’ which is a reference to Hunter being one of the best college football players in the country.
Hunter is considered a favorite for the Heisman Trophy, which is awarded annually to the best player in the sport.
The Colorado star’s main competition is Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, and the award will be presented on December 14.
Hunter and Lenee will get married next year and May 24 will be the date set for their vows. That date will be near the start of many NFL rookie camps.
