The trailer for Harry and Meghan’s latest Netflix project was released just hours after Princess Catherine’s intimate cancer recovery video.
POLO, the new documentary series following the sport’s elite global players, was announced today on Netflix’s social media channels and was created by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Productions.
The announcement came just hours after William and Kate posted an emotional video celebrating the end of the Princess’ chemotherapy treatment following a difficult health crisis earlier this year.
In the three-minute clip, Kate warned that “doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus” and admitted that the past nine months have been a “scary and unpredictable” time for her family.
The Princess said the experience has reminded her and her husband to “reflect and be grateful for the simple but important things in life, which many of us often take for granted. The simple fact of loving and being loved.”
There is no evidence to suggest that the timing of Netflix’s announcement was planned around Kate’s video.

In an uplifting video message shared today, the Princess of Wales revealed that she has completed her “preventative chemotherapy” treatment.
The princess’s personal message to the nation is accompanied by a stunning three-minute video showing her and William in Norfolk with their three children.
Netflix’s announcement reads: ‘POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive look behind the scenes of the fast-paced world of sport.
‘From Archewell Productions and Boardwalk Pictures, premiering this December only on Netflix.’
William and Kate’s video was filmed in Norfolk and features the couple’s three children (Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis), as well as Kate’s parents.
In her message, the princess says: ‘As the summer draws to a close, I cannot express to you the relief I feel at having finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as we know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate turbulent waters and uncharted paths.
‘The cancer experience is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, you also face your own vulnerabilities in ways you’ve never considered before, and with that, you gain a new perspective on everything.
Kensington Palace has not confirmed whether the princess, seen with William, expects to return to her full schedule next year.

As for her plans for the coming months, Catherine continues: “I am now focused on doing everything I can to stay cancer-free. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my road to healing and full recovery is a long one and I must continue to live each day as it comes. However, I hope to return to work and take on some more public engagements in the coming months when I am able.
‘Despite everything that has happened, I am entering this new stage of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation for life. William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn a lot of strength from all those who are helping us at this time. The kindness, empathy and compassion from everyone has been truly heartwarming.’
And it ends with a deeply moving and emotional message for other cancer patients and their families: “To all those who continue their own journey against cancer, I stand with you, side by side, hand in hand. From darkness can emerge light, so let that light shine brightly.”
